Chinese New Year Assembly

Thank you to everyone who attended our assembly last week! We hope you learned lots and enjoyed our performance!

We learned many new facts while rehearsing for the assembly and loved learning some Chinese too!

This photograph may be of a familiar face...

Invasion!

Yesterday afternoon, when room 9 were at Gym, room 10 seized the opportunity to 'invade' the room 9 classroom. We changed the door sign and covered over the window slot on the classroom door. On their return from Gym, Mrs Irving and P3/4 were shocked and stunned at the take over of their classroom. After some discussion and victorious cheers from the room 10 children a room 9 child said "Why don't we invade room 10?!" And so  room 9 entered our classroom. We all found this very fun until the shoe was on the other foot! There were calls of "don't touch my tray!", "Please leave my pencil case alone!", "That's our classroom,"and many more...

This was a very realistic way of showing the boys and girls in both classes what happened in the past- when the Romans invaded neighbouring countries and took over towns. This helped us to imagine how the People of Britain and other countries would have felt when the invasions happened. It created a very good discussion and helped us to share our thoughts and feelings!

Here are aome of our pictures:
