Term 1

The children have settled well into primary 4 and are enjoying the new challenges they have been faced with. Some of them have struck up new friendships and they have enjoyed working in new groups. So far we have completed our RME topic of The Hajj. The children enjoyed recapping on the Five Pillars of Islam and learning more about Muslims and their pilgrimage to Mecca. We have been working on our China topic and are lucky enough to have a visitor coming in to speak to us about a trip that they have been on. We have learned a lot about the country and school life in China. We have created some great pieces of writing about this topic and have enjoyed researching during our ICT slots, many of us have been independent in doing this, further developing our computing skills. Hopscotch theatre group visited us and put on a performance about our rights. This was a great way for us to see some of the rights we came up with for our Rights Respecting School Charter in action. This also helped us think about what we have to do to ensure everyone has access to their rights. We have had a very hard working and busy first term in primary 4 and are looking forward to what term 2 has in store for us! Have a lovely September weekend and October holiday!
